Illusionary Listening describes a mode of perception in which listening dissolves the boundaries between space, body, and sound, opening pathways into new dimensions.
The festival presents acousmatic compositions, world premieres, live-electronic works, and ambisonic pieces by Martina Claussen, François Buffet, Louise Rossiter, Jakob Schauer, Isabella Forciniti, Enrique Mendoza, Veronika Mayer, Benjamin Kubaczek, Manu Mitterhuber, Simon-Pierre Gourd, Bernard Parmegiani, François Bayle and Thomas Gorbach.
Their artistic diversity spans a panorama from subtle, intimate moments of listening to expansive sonic illusions – a festival that makes the depth and poetry of acousmatic music truly tangible.
Four exceptional loudspeaker installations provide the spaces for this listening experience:
- the Vienna Acousmonium by Thomas Gorbach with its animated sound sculptures,
- the multi-channel listening room for acousmatic repertoire,
- the Hybrid Audio Diffusion System (HADS) by Enrique Mendoza, combining loudspeakers and headphones for an immersive sonic experience,
- as well as the DodecaOtto by Manu Mitterhuber – a quasi 360° sound sculpture that creates its own listening space.
18:00 – 20:00 & 22:00 – 24:00
- Studio 1 – Multichannel Listening Room
- Studio 2 – Hybrid-Audio-Diffusion-System
- Entrance hall – DodecaOTTO
