For the 20+ anniversary of the Institute for Media Archaeology, The Vienna Acousmonium will be installed in the workshop hall of the Zwentendorf Nuclear Power Plant.
The programme features works by Beatriz Ferreyra, Thomas Gorbach, Cora Leli Hausch, Electric Indigo, Katharina Klement, Louise Rossiter, Éliane Radigue, Jakob Schauer, Elisabeth Schimana, Andrey Smirnov and Mieko Suzuki.
Live-generated and composed works flow through the control console of the loudspeaker orchestra and are distributed throughout the space — mechanically, manually and spiritually — in sound curves, frequency layers and vertical shifts.
Ephemeral sound sculptures emerge, shifting perspectives, differentiating the act of listening and opening the ear to new spatial experiences of sound.
