The composer and singer Martina Claussen explores and combines sounds of voices, sound objects, analog and digital electronics, explores the spatial, the performative and constantly develops her own distinctive `sound script’.
She studied computer music and electronic media at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, concert voice at the MUK Vienna and composition at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz.
Starting from a background as a classically trained singer (including performances at the Volksoper Wien, the Musikverein and the Konzerthaus Wien), she has expanded her artistic focus to electroacoustic composition and performance in the field of experimental voice over the past 10 years.

Ars Electronica – Linz, Wien Modern – Vienna, Musikprotokoll – Graz, Fylkingen – Stockholm, Iklectik – London, Km28 – Berlin, Festival Futura – Crest/France, Acousmatic Festival – St.Petersburg, Musrara Mix Festival – Jerusalem and the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival.
Martina Claussen received the Publicity Award in 2020 from SKE / Austro Mechana, as well as a composition scholarship from the Austrian Federal Government in 2022 and 2023.
She has held an associate professorship for classical singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna since 2009.
