Writing Classes on Acousmatic Music for Fixed Media
We are excited to announce the relaunch of a composition course with Annette Vande Gorne starting in September 2024. For two years, the pioneer of acousmatic art will share her extensive knowledge of acousmatic music in detail once a month. With your own sound studies, you will have the opportunity to verify these techniques and apply them personally. A wide variety of methods, analyses, and listening exercises will enable an in-depth exploration of the possibilities of recorded sounds.
The content in detail:
- Energy models and the play sequence: Classification of musical gestures and forms
- Techniques of sound montage: Delta sounds, attack substitution, mini montage, interpolation, encrustation, composite objects, variations of montage
- Techniques of superimposition: connecting two sequences, cross-fading, using a predefined track, composite play sequences, mixing three or more objects or layers, connection through theme and variation
- Techniques of transformation: frequency, spectral, amplitude, time, and spatial transformations
