I Am Here – in a setting where we lend each other our bodies and voices, the pillars of the space become vehicles of coexistence; a transcorporeal community where human sounds grow out of the digital, electronics nest in fleshly bodies and light makes its way through the space to branch out further with us.
In Blackboxed Voices, architecture, light, performance and sound flow into each other, transforming and mutually conditioning each other.
The focus is on the interweaving of human and non-human voices and bodies: 4 performers, 32 loudspeakers, a hall of columns, light and heating elements form the speech organ of this performative sound installation. Sounds emerge from floor and wall cracks, from throats, from loudspeakers of the Vienna Acousmonium are formed and shaped by the architecture of the columned hall. Voices sound live and detached from the human body, find themselves in electronically generated soundscapes and rub against the sound structures of the performers.
